DAN Instructors are scuba diving educators who want to offer dive safety programs to their students. To become a DAN Instructor, you must participate in a DAN Instructor Qualification Course (IQC).

• The IQC follows a modular format. There is a Core Module and then a separate module representing each training program. You can take all nine modules as part of one course, or just take the Core Module and one course module - whatever you are interested in teaching. (The Core Module is taken online prior to arrival, or it can be done face to face for an additional cost and two hours of class time) Later, as long as you remain a current and active DAN Instructor, you can take additional modules without retaking the Core Module.

Prerequisites for DAN Instructor Qualification Course:

1. DAN Member
2. Current Provider training within 24 months in all courses seeking instructor certification (If you do not have provider training in a course in which you are seeking instruction please e-mail for your options)
   
3. Divemaster or higher Instructor rating from a recognized Dive Training Organization
   
4. Current CPR Instructor
   
5. Documentation of First Aid training

*Each individual module may have specific prerequisites.

In order to become a DAN Instructor Trainer you must first complete the Core Training Module.  This course includes an online learning component as well as a classroom orientation to the DAN training courses.  The online component is required for any DAN Instructor or Instructor Trainer Program if you have not completed the Core Learning Course in the last 24 months.

The Professional Divers course is limited to those who dive as a profession, like police, scientist, aquarists and research professionals.  You must have an affiliation in order to take this Instructor Course and you may only teach to those with an affiliation.  The course includes Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, AED, Choking, First Aid, Scuba Oxygen, Shock Management, Hazardous Marine Life Injuries and Emergency Moves.  Designed to meet agency requirements for Professional Diver Certifications with one certification card.

DAN Aquatics Oxygen First Aid Instructor       $300.00
 
The Industry recognized DAN Oxygen Program has been redone to focus on Aquatic scenarios outside of scuba diving to include recreational pools and health clubs.
